After successfully trying hemp to help with my insomnia, I thought it might be a good idea to see other brands in the market. Maybe something out there would be a little more affordable and have a broader range of products that better suit my preference. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think my expertise level is high enough to judge which brand is the best, but it doesn’t hurt to share what I’ve encountered in my hemp journey.
Hemp vs. Marijuana
Just a little reminder, for those who might be reading about hemp for the first time: hemp is not the same thing as marijuana. You can expect to see this statement time and again because there has always been a misconception that these two are the same thing.
Hemp only has trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, which amounts to less than 0.3%. This means that unlike marijuana, which contains around 5% or more of the psychoactive compound, hemp will not directly induce a psychedelic high.
It’s also worth noting that unlike weed, hemp is legal in ALL 50 states in the United States. Legislation towards permanently removing it from the list of illegal substances is moving forward.
Hemp is also used to make fuel, paper, clothing, canvases, construction material and a substitute for plastic. This makes it far more versatile than marijuana.
But since it’s well known for its medicinal properties, I’d be reviewing another brand of hemp health supplements.
What is Amazing About Fab CBD?
Fab CBD has been in the industry for over 25 years already. Born out of the passion to help their mother and grandmother, Fab has grown into a well-known brand that now helps beyond their immediate circle. Although Fab CBD champions cannabidiol (CBD) as the primary healing component for their oils, they also have products with full spectrum cannabinoids.
Homegrown, all hemp plants are 100% cultivated organically in Colorado with no pesticides.
What impresses me the most about Fab is how they maintain the levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to lesser than the minimum percentage. While some are indeed below 0.3%, Fab CBD claims that their products are at less than 0.2%. It’s even stated in their site that their CBD oils contain just 0.054% THC and high concentrations of CBD.
You don’t have to take my word for it. Third party lab results are available for your perusal at their site. It’s nice that there are companies like Fab that are transparent with their formulations.
Overview of Products
1. Fab CBD Oil
The Fab CBD Oil comes in 150, 300, 600 and 1200mg bottles. Aside from the natural flavor, you can opt for the citrus and mint variants, which I thought was a nice touch for those who might not like the organic taste of hemp extract.
- Different sizes and flavors
- Made from organic, natural and safe ingredients
- Reliable Third Party Testing
- Not for vaping
- Only natural variant is ideal for pets
Intake and Dosage
- Start with a 5mg drop and observe what happens.
- For the first 3-4 weeks, try taking this dosage twice a day: one in the morning and one at night.
- If you don’t feel any effects, try taking three drops a day.
Remember to “start low and go slow.” The Fab CBD site has a guide to help you reach your ideal dosage since each person is different and there’s no fixed dosage for CBD oils.
I love the idea of having flavors for CBD Oil tinctures! I also appreciate the fact that they considered their products to be beneficial to animals as well as humans. Many have left positive reviews of how Fab has helped with joint pain, muscle pain, and even chronic pain.
2. Fab CBD Muscle and Joint Topical
Fab CBD Muscle & Joint Topical is a pain relief cream infused with the healing properties of rich hemp oil. It comes in just one small 600mg variant that is easy to carry.
- Light and convenient 600mg packaging
- The oil has a pleasant scent
- Quick and focused effects
- Reliable Third party testing
Intake and Dosage
Apply the cream on the affected area and wait for results. Sadly, there is not much instruction available other than the brief one that what was given. This is mainly due to users reporting almost immediate results upon application of the cream.
It only comes in one variant, which means that users don’t have a wide variety of options. But then again, as a topical cream, no one minds too much about it. Personally, I used it for headaches, and it works like a dream. I only need a smidge and apply it to my temples so that little bottle will go a long way for me. It may not be ideal for those with more painful areas to cover.
3. Fab CBD Chews
Great news for those who are into chews. These little gummies from Fab CBD are fruit flavored, non-GMO and vegan. So to those who are holding out on their gelatin, this is a great alternative. They’re shaped as the same colorful bears we’ve come to know and love but at a slightly higher price, and with greater pain relief.
- 100% THC-free
- Fruity Flavors
- Safe and environmentally friendly
- Completely Vegan
- Reliable Third Party Testing
- Contains Wheat
Intake and Dosage
Just like the topical cream, there are no clear instructions for these. It has been suggested to take it as a post-workout treat or as on-the-go snacks; which, to me, means “take when necessary.” Since I mostly use hemp products for my insomnia (and all of them have worked wonderfully), I decided to take one before going to bed.
Again, I love the idea of having flavored CBD. It makes it seem less like medicine and more like candy. As for effectiveness, I really can’t complain. It’s still slower compared to tinctures, and further research does show that it’s due the chewables going through your digestive system first. But it’s still effective. So, no worries about that.
Also, let me just mention again, it’s completely vegan! I know that i may be overdoing it, but I’m delighted that there are vegan options out there. It shows that the company is non-exclusive and reaches out to more than what’s common.
Overall Verdict of the Brand
Props to Colorado this time! I enjoy seeing products from across the map, and this one is definitely a quality brand. Their products are affordable, effective and show a level of thought for a discerning market by providing flavoring options.
Although their selection is still smaller compared to other CBD companies, it is consistent, and other reviewers have mentioned that it was more quality over quantity for them.
Another plus is that they routinely have their products tested by reliable third-party laboratories. The latest 2018 results are posted on their site and are available for viewing, regardless if you’ve bought a product or not. This is a deciding factor for most of the reviewers.
Lastly, based on the quick elevation of my headache, as well as other reviews, I can confidently say that Fab CBD products are very effective in treating pain. They’re just FAB! (pun intended)
I urge you to try these products for yourself and rest easy knowing that you can get a full refund if not fully satisfied. Just make sure to notify them within 30 days from purchase. Factoring in that you might need two weeks (14 days) to test them, you’d still have ample time of 16 days to make a claim.
